Baltic Wharf Riverside Revival
Baltic Wharf is widely considered to be one of the most sustainable potential development sites in Totnes. Local councils and community groups are broadly in favour of its redevelopment.
The site comprises of 13-acres of mainly brownfield (previously developed) land including 400 metres of quayside along the river Dart. It is a short level walk from Totnes town centre.
Baltic Wharf is currently home to a boatyard, several marine businesses and other office based and light industrial companies. Around 100 people work there

Most of the buildings date back to the former use of the site as Reeves timber yard when wood was imported by sea from the Baltic, hence the name!
Unfortunately, the existing buildings are in a poor state and - not having been designed with their current occupants in mind - waste a lot of space.
Wharf is owned by TQ9 Partnership; three local families based in the Totnes area. Their vision is to help Baltic Wharf fulfil its potential as a vibrant and much loved part of the Totnes economy and community.
TQ9 is currently working with local councils and community groups to find a sustainable development solution for the site and hopes to be in a position to consult on revised proposals for the site during 2010.
